We have almost reached the end of this half term. In the past 5 weeks the pupils have enjoyed many wonderful activities, including trips to Wisley Gardens and Brighton. Fortunately the spring weather was kind on both these occasions and the children behaved beautifully. In fact some members of the public went out of their way to talk to members of staff to say what a credit the pupils were to our school. I am always delighted to hear that our pupils are such great ambassadors for our school when they are ‘out and about’.
Last week our Year 6 pupils applied themselves brilliantly as they sat their SATs. All the staff in school were impressed by the pupil’s attitude and commitment to do their very best.
It was lovely to see so many parents and carers in the hall supporting the PTA Family Disco last Friday. The PTA received very positive feedback from those who attended so let’s hope we can do more of these events. I would like to thank the PTA for all their hard work in organising the disco. Their commitment to organising events is brilliant and is making such a difference to all the pupils at Rushy. Their next event will be the Summer Fair – listen out for more news about this over the next few weeks.
As you know, we are going to be developing the garden at the front of the school. We look forward to seeing some of you on Saturday 8th June when we begin the first stage – clearing and weeding.
I wish you all an enjoyable half term break and look forward to welcoming the pupils back to school on Tuesday 4th June for the rest of the summer term.
It really does feel that summer is almost here.
